It struck me that I have not been utilizing my time as much as I could have when my boyfriend persistently demanded that I spend my time fruitfully instead of slacking around doing nothing - my favorite past time on week day nights, because honestly my energy level by the time I get home from work crash to near zero. Hell, I don't even watch the telly.
So I went round doing my little survey, sample size of 3 - 2 males & 1 female.
Male B concurred with my boyfriend & even added that one has to be passionate with at least one thing in life in order to lead a meaningful life. Well said, though that only adds to my list of worries because going by his definition, I am not leading a meaningful life. And as hard as I work my brains, I can't think of anything I am passionate about! *Devastation!*
After hearing Mr Boyfriend & male B, I'm tempted to conclude this whole having passion & maximizing time is related to the traditional role of men is to bring home the bacon.
Female S was facing the exact predicament & she was of the opinion that its largely a guy thing, well Hello there friend heh!
Male C weighed in & he believes that to each his/her own, one doesn't have to live life according to how others define it. *Applause!*
Of course this issue bugged me for abit, I thought about it in the shower, on the way to work & even while I am at work. Can't believe it took me awhile to realize what I have overlooked all this time. Hearing what Male C said really knocked some sense into me. At the end of the day it's really to each his/her own because every individual is entitled to their own opinion, I am glad to say that I am happy to be doing what I do & blessed with the people in my life.

Reflections
How often do you come across an article that compels you to re-look at your current well-being. More importantly, the possibility that happiness should not be a goal in your life?
"It is the very pursuit of happiness that thwarts happiness."
Sounds contentious?

Reflections
On hindsight, I am glad to be where I am right now.
Yes you probably have guessed it, I used to work there. Since the day I bid that firm farewell, it has been almost a year that I am with my current employer. I guess for most of us, having a stable job with steady income is probably a given that comes along with most jobs. Never in my wildest dream would I have foreseen myself in the meeting room with my boss & a HR personnel discussing my compensation package. That was certainly a "milestone" in my career, I was just 24 when it happened, still fresh from university and barely working for just 2 years. Suddenly, my career has come to a dead end.
Without doubt, that was a hard fall. In such tough times, the support from family & friends had helped to keep me moving forward. Like a sharp jolt that awakens you from deep sleep, I had come to realize the harsh reality of how cut-throat the investment banking industry is.
The human spirit grows & develops from such experiences hence in my job search I was certain that my next job must offer me stability and opportunities for growth because I was not getting any younger & I most certainly would need the steady income for settling down.
Today, here & now, looking back at what happened, I am glad that it did because I could not have imagined where I would have ended up.
Love & such
6th Jan this year was my 5th year with my beloved. Thanks for planning the awesome staycation at W Hotel Sentosa Cove. Just like the saying goes, it just keeps getting better. The suite we got (Fabulous Room) was just perfect & the lovely surprises by the wonderful people at W Hotel made this day so much more special. Every single cent was really well spent. Impeccable service!
Anybody who has been in a relationship before would know that falling in love is easy but staying in love is no easy feat. Especially with friction & the inevitable arguments, I'm just glad that we have stayed strong together.
I'm thankful for having you by my side through the rough patches in my life. Cheers to many many many more wonderful years ahead!

Christmas 2012
Season's Greetings!

Traditionally, being non-Christians, my family does not celebrate Christmas. But Christmas (being such a huge festival even Orchard Road concur with its majestic Christmas trees & magical lights), is typically another sweet excuse for us to catch up with loved and dear ones.
This year was an unforgettable celebration, the group of us booked a premier loft in Studio M Hotel. Called for food (pizza, sushi, Shepherd pie, log cake, ham, chips) & tadah ~ a Merry Christmas party! The night was filled with boisterous laughter as each of us had our 1-min of fame while playing Charades & Taboo. Either the room has really thick soundproof walls or our next door neighbors must also be engaged in merrymaking because I'm pretty certain our room was a perfect pandemonium!Last but not least, gift exchange!
I sure hope everyone had fun playing Santa picking gifts for your secret Santee. Though the initial planning process for this party has had its fair share of hiccups, it was all worth the while as the party was a huge success :) Till next year guys!
Back in business!
This is me, back in action. Of course I am fully aware that this blog probably has zero readers (except maybe my faithful boyfriend hehe) but since writing is a therapeutic experience for me, I shall restart my journey here.
