Jamie's Italian, Singapore

After much hype, we finally mustered the courage to brave the long queue for TGIF dinner at Jamie's Italian. True enough, we waited an hour for the table. As you can imagine, I was so damnnnnn hungry! I can eat a whole cow. I ordered Seafood Bucatini because I am a seafood lover & pasta cooked with white wine & tomato sauce sounds like a pretty safe choice. The boyfriend had Grilled Chicken, also another safe choice, guess we aren't huge adventure takers, especially after waiting so darn long for a table. Imagine if the food came out to be sucky, we would be devastated!

Seafood Bucatini is a seafood cooked in a bag, pretty much like Pizza Hut's Parchment Pasta. Pasta in Jamie's is handmade daily & this pasta was different from any other I have had elsewhere. Probably also because the pasta is a tube with a hollow center. Seafood comprised of scallop, mussels, squid & prawns. Decent pasta, nothing amazing though.

Grilled Chicken was a tiny portion, the chicken tasted burnt, not sure if that was the intention though. The meat is dry & we could not taste any marinate in the chicken. This safe choice fell way below our expectations.

For dessert we had a Ji Warm Brownie, the looks of this dish far exceeded its taste. The brownie was dry & our request to the waitress to drizzle chocolate sauce over the brownie was rejected :( You know how good food always leaves an unforgettable impression? Well, when we were trying hard to swallow this dry brownie, other places which serve awesome brownies popped into our mind. Namely, Harry's Bar - Chocolate Brownie with Vanilla Ice-Cream & Big O Cafe - Ice-Cream Fudge Brownie
